- 0:46Speaker 4: Ladies and gentlemen. I am here in the studio with
- 0:49Speaker 4: Hollis Lewis. Hello, Hello, and miss Lisa Odie. And uh,
- 0:55Speaker 4: Unfortunately today I'm gonna have to start to show out
- 1:01Speaker 4: by talking directly about my vikings.
- 1:04Speaker 5: Okay, I feel so did you feel bad?
- 1:09Speaker 2: Terrible? I hardly night, I can.
- 1:12Speaker 4: I can feel that passion from both that you. Okay,
- 1:16Speaker 4: so I guess you there's no place to start other
- 1:21Speaker 4: than to me. The quarterback situation, Sam Donaldson all right,
- 1:29Speaker 4: and Hollis you you've been a quarterback and and and
- 1:32Speaker 4: you understand some of these falls And my question to
- 1:36Speaker 4: you on this particular one is when do you like, Okay,
- 1:41Speaker 4: he's not a scrambler. Okay, let's make that case. He's
- 1:44Speaker 4: not a scrambler. He's not really gonna run, but he
- 1:47Speaker 4: holds the ball like forever, and how do you what
- 1:54Speaker 4: is the what is the what is the thing that
- 1:56Speaker 4: you would tell him like like throw it?
- 1:59Speaker 2: Can you throw it out of bad?
- 2:00Speaker 4: Can you? You know, you can't wait for somebody to
- 2:02Speaker 4: get open, and especially if you know somebody's blitzing you.
- 2:06Speaker 4: I mean, I would say this watching the game. I
- 2:09Speaker 4: mean the Rams defense played excellent. I mean, if you
- 2:12Speaker 4: make if you look at it, even the times where
- 2:15Speaker 4: they didn't have necessarily a stout rush, they were able
- 2:18Speaker 4: to blanket him in as far as the defensive line
- 2:20Speaker 4: and the defensive backs had excellent coverage. So there was
- 2:23Speaker 4: actually a lot of times where it just wasn't anywhere
- 2:26Speaker 4: for him to go. And I would and I would
- 2:28Speaker 4: push back on saying far as a scrambler, because I
- 2:30Speaker 4: think every quarterback you have to be able to You
- 2:33Speaker 4: don't have to be a scrambler, but you have to
- 2:35Speaker 4: be able to run the ball. You gotta get five six,
- 2:38Speaker 4: two three yards so.
- 2:40Speaker 1: But.
- 2:43Speaker 4: Didn't have anywhere to go. Okay, So I want to
- 2:45Speaker 4: ask this questions before you jump in. See, I think
- 2:50Speaker 4: you can make the case that every quarterback can scramble,
- 2:53Speaker 4: every quarterback can move.
- 2:55Speaker 2: You have to be able to this.
- 2:56Speaker 4: But I'm not sure that he I know he he
- 3:00Speaker 4: can move, he can do some certain things, but he's
- 3:03Speaker 4: not the quarterback that's gonna come out with eighty yards
- 3:06Speaker 4: one hundred yards. And again you don't but you don't
- 3:08Speaker 4: have to be no, you know what I'm saying. But
- 3:10Speaker 4: there's gonna be a game in this game. I think
- 3:12Speaker 4: he had to be. But I don't think you have
- 3:14Speaker 4: to be that guy. But I think what to your point,
- 3:16Speaker 4: you have to make a decision that at times when
- 3:19Speaker 4: I'm seeing nothing, I have to make a decision that
- 3:22Speaker 4: I'm one two, I'm on my first, my second read,
- 3:25Speaker 4: third read, and I gotta take off.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I gotta do something.
- 3:27Speaker 4: And I think he was holding for something to happen
- 3:30Speaker 4: and come open. But you know it didn't work out.
- 3:32Speaker 6: So let me ask both of you this, So where
- 3:35Speaker 6: do we stop laying all the blame on Sam Darnold
- 3:39Speaker 6: and maybe looking at the offensive line.
- 3:41Speaker 5: Oh what, I.
- 3:44Speaker 4: Got a place for that, like, you know, because I
- 3:47Speaker 4: do I do think I do think that the offensive line.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Did not do their do their part.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Okay, but I think what is what had happened was that,
- 4:02Speaker 4: you know, in reality, there was this you know all
- 4:07Speaker 4: as you know, scouting reports, you know, all of this
- 4:09Speaker 4: kind of stuff, and I think they realized that blitzing
- 4:14Speaker 4: was gonna be the thing. I see, I's this thing
- 4:16Speaker 4: they got outplayed. I think they go we can blame
- 4:20Speaker 4: you know, QB, we can blame offensive line all that,
- 4:23Speaker 4: but you know, far as the Rams defense versus specifically
- 4:26Speaker 4: the Minnesota offense, they Minnesota offense just got outplayed. I
- 4:30Speaker 4: mean Rams defense. They were aggressive, they were fast, they
- 4:33Speaker 4: were athletic, and they just looked way better than none.
- 4:37Speaker 2: See. But but but there's a there was a reason.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Well let me let me back up.
- 4:43Speaker 4: I'm not sure that that's the that's what the Rams
- 4:46Speaker 4: do week in and week out. I think what they
- 4:49Speaker 4: saw in the scouting report was that if you attack them,
- 4:54Speaker 4: if you go after them, they don't respond. I don't
- 5:00Speaker 4: think the Vikings. I just don't think the Vikings. I mean,
- 5:02Speaker 4: what were they like fifteen and two. Yes, So it's
- 5:07Speaker 4: not like this has been like, but once we got
- 5:10Speaker 4: but once once you started narrowing it down to these teams,
- 5:14Speaker 4: these last couple of teams, they okay, So if you
- 5:19Speaker 4: say that, then what happened today?
- 5:21Speaker 2: What happened?
- 5:22Speaker 4: You just got out played today or whenever it was Saturday.
- 5:26Speaker 2: I was using today as well, Monday.
- 5:29Speaker 4: You just got outplayed and it's nothing. And again, yeah,
- 5:33Speaker 4: they were the better team on that day, and I
- 5:34Speaker 4: think that's what it was.
- 5:35Speaker 6: Yeah, I totally agree with that statement. But let's just
- 5:38Speaker 6: look at the overall picture. What is going on with
- 5:41Speaker 6: the Minnesota Vikings. It seems like they can get to
- 5:43Speaker 6: the cusp of getting they can get a playoff game,
- 5:47Speaker 6: and then they can't get past that. It's kind of
- 5:49Speaker 6: like what the Packers are doing as well.
- 5:50Speaker 5: So I'm not seers. Yeah, I'm I'm not gonna sit
- 5:53Speaker 5: on this.
- 5:54Speaker 6: You know, high horse, and I like, you know, if
- 5:55Speaker 6: the team that I cheer for did any better. But
- 5:58Speaker 6: you know, they were the first fourteen win team to
- 6:03Speaker 6: lose in the wildcard round ever. Ever, So what what
- 6:07Speaker 6: I mean? I know the game before they lost to Detroit.
- 6:10Speaker 6: Do you think that played a factor in their mindset?
- 6:14Speaker 4: It shouldn't, but it could it could, but it shouldn't
- 6:18Speaker 4: once that. Once you have that loss and now you're
- 6:21Speaker 4: in the playoffs, now you're like, Okay, this is a
- 6:24Speaker 4: brand new season. This is the very first game of
- 6:26Speaker 4: our championship season that we're that we're gonna push toward
- 6:30Speaker 4: the championship, right, And you show up that.
- 6:33Speaker 6: Way and you can't even really say it was home
- 6:35Speaker 6: field advantage because they weren't even playing in Los Angeles.
- 6:38Speaker 6: They were playing at the Cardinals Stadium, correct, Yes, because
- 6:41Speaker 6: of the wild.
- 6:42Speaker 4: And again yeah, yeah, yeah, and again you just to
- 6:45Speaker 4: that point. While the Rams did not have home for
- 6:48Speaker 4: the advantage, they probably had that extra umph because everything
- 6:51Speaker 4: they were going through far as with the fire so
- 6:53Speaker 4: that and I don't want to use that pun because
- 6:55Speaker 4: it's in bad taste, but they had a little extra
- 6:57Speaker 4: behind them because they were, you know, representing people who
- 6:59Speaker 4: are really going through a difficult time the city, so
- 7:02Speaker 4: they had like the city on their back. You know,
- 7:04Speaker 4: I can I can see that being I can see
- 7:06Speaker 4: that being a push. But six I think six socks
- 7:11Speaker 4: in the first half when we're talking about we're talking
- 7:15Speaker 4: about the.
- 7:16Speaker 6: Offensive line socks total Yeah, non soocks.
- 7:20Speaker 5: That's that's excessive.
- 7:21Speaker 4: That's the most I think if I looked it up,
- 7:23Speaker 4: and I think that's the most in Viking history. Sure
- 7:27Speaker 4: that they that that they've had in like their sixty
- 7:32Speaker 4: four years of existence.
- 7:33Speaker 6: Yeah, and that I mean, and you know, I'm gonna
- 7:37Speaker 6: have to go with what Holla said. I do think
- 7:39Speaker 6: the motivating factor for you know, not only did they
- 7:42Speaker 6: just outplay them, they had that motivation of what they
- 7:45Speaker 6: their city is going through, that their fans, their people,
- 7:48Speaker 6: so they had that little extra motivation, I would think.
- 7:52Speaker 2: And I think stuff like that is real.
- 7:54Speaker 4: I mean, people don't like to say that, but I
- 7:56Speaker 4: think them coming in there, you know, not being able
- 7:59Speaker 4: to be playing homes because of everything's going on with
- 8:01Speaker 4: the wildfires, they were really representing the interests of just
- 8:04Speaker 4: like the people who are just you know, going through
- 8:06Speaker 4: it right now. But in addition to that, I mean,
- 8:08Speaker 4: they're just really their defense is just Stout, or at
- 8:11Speaker 4: least they play Stout that night. Yeah, I think to me,
- 8:14Speaker 4: I'm not sure, and I haven't watched them week in
- 8:17Speaker 4: and week out, I'm not sure I think that that
- 8:20Speaker 4: was how they've played all year. But I think that
- 8:24Speaker 4: there was something there was something there that the that
- 8:26Speaker 4: the vikings were able that they could see in the
- 8:29Speaker 4: vikings that they could they could come off the edge,
- 8:32Speaker 4: they could they could go, they could twist and do
- 8:34Speaker 4: all that kind of stuff up the middle and get
- 8:36Speaker 4: and get to the quarterback. And once you get to
- 8:38Speaker 4: the quarterback and you've hit him a couple of times, right,
- 8:43Speaker 4: I mean, that's that's a that's a pretty much of
- 8:45Speaker 4: a done deal. And then how about being that guy
- 8:48Speaker 4: and all of a sudden you're on the cup of
- 8:52Speaker 4: getting a huge contract and your last two games that
- 8:55Speaker 4: you play, and.
- 8:56Speaker 6: What are your thoughts do you think? Do you think
- 8:58Speaker 6: that they'll he'll come back or future?
- 9:02Speaker 4: I can I can assure you one hundred million dollars
- 9:05Speaker 4: is not going to be what he's getting. Okay, but okay,
- 9:08Speaker 4: but I'll say maybe not one hundred But who else
- 9:11Speaker 4: you're going with that? And and this is my problem
- 9:14Speaker 4: when we talk about quarterback and quarterback play.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Who else you're going with? Who else you got?
- 9:20Speaker 4: There's not a lot of great quarterback And again, when
- 9:22Speaker 4: you're asking a guy like Sam Dardod to pass forty
- 9:25Speaker 4: times in a game that people winning, yeah, you know,
- 9:28Speaker 4: that's just not his style of play. I mean, they
- 9:30Speaker 4: did a decent job running, but they only had they
- 9:32Speaker 4: had twenty two carries for one hundred and six yards,
- 9:35Speaker 4: but they were behind the eight ball, so they couldn't
- 9:37Speaker 4: really establish the running exactly right. So but I would say,
- 9:40Speaker 4: just from a general matter, who you're getting, it just
- 9:43Speaker 4: ain't a lot of guys you could just plug and play.
- 9:46Speaker 4: To your point, there's very few. There are very few.
- 9:51Speaker 5: Aaron Rodgers will be on the market quarterbacks.
- 9:53Speaker 2: That you can you can you can drive.
- 9:57Speaker 4: Again, I don't think that the draft is going to
- 10:01Speaker 4: I don't think the draft is going to be their option.
- 10:04Speaker 4: So you know this point, No, and to Lisa's point,
- 10:07Speaker 4: you're gonna have to try to find somebody. You got
- 10:11Speaker 4: somebody though, who was fifteen and two? You got somebody,
- 10:16Speaker 4: I think. Let me ask this question.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Let me ask this question.
- 10:20Speaker 4: Winning football games doesn't always have to be that you
- 10:25Speaker 4: got a great coach. Nor does it have to mean
- 10:27Speaker 4: that you've got a great quarterback. No, yes it does.
- 10:30Speaker 4: And I don't know about the coach part per se.
- 10:33Speaker 4: But you got to have a really good quarterback, now,
- 10:35Speaker 4: oh for sure, because everything's on the quarterback. Okay, So
- 10:39Speaker 4: are we saying that the Vikings have a really good quarterback.
- 10:42Speaker 2: I think I'm not.
- 10:43Speaker 4: I don't know about really good, but I think you
- 10:44Speaker 4: have an improving quarterback.
- 10:47Speaker 2: I don't think he was. Are you keeping him?
- 10:49Speaker 4: Yes, I'm keeping them. Yeah, I'm keeping him. I think
- 10:52Speaker 4: he's a younger guy.
- 10:53Speaker 6: Right.
- 10:54Speaker 4: This was kind of his first because I think what
- 10:56Speaker 4: he came from the Jets, if I'm not mistaken, yes,
- 10:59Speaker 4: I think so. Yes, So he came from the Jests.
- 11:00Speaker 4: He didn't come from a good organization. So this is
- 11:02Speaker 4: kind of his first iteration of being able to really
- 11:05Speaker 4: show what he can do. I think he played some
- 11:07Speaker 4: good last year, but I'm sort I'm building the continuity.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I'm going to keep him and we'll see what happens
- 11:12Speaker 2: next year.
- 11:12Speaker 6: Next year, And you know what, though, you can always
- 11:14Speaker 6: look in the future and maybe during the draft, may
- 11:17Speaker 6: maybe draft a promising quarterback. That's what the Pickers did
- 11:20Speaker 6: whenever they still had Aaron Rodgers, which was the beginning
- 11:23Speaker 6: of the end, but they drafted Jordan Love and so, yeah,
- 11:27Speaker 6: he wasn't happy about it, and I'm sure Darnold wouldn't
- 11:29Speaker 6: be happy about it either. But for the future of
- 11:32Speaker 6: your organization, maybe you know, draft one of those.
- 11:37Speaker 5: Top quarterbacks. From collegiate.
- 11:39Speaker 2: So, okay, let me ask this question.
- 11:41Speaker 4: So is there no conversation about the head coach who
- 11:45Speaker 4: is also the offensive coordinator. Did he call the right game?
- 11:50Speaker 4: Did he did he was the strategy right?
- 11:54Speaker 2: Or did?
- 11:54Speaker 4: Or?
- 11:55Speaker 6: But do you throw the play of the whole season?
- 11:58Speaker 6: I mean, I know everybody's disappointed if you're a Vikings fan.
- 12:01Speaker 6: I mean, I'm disappointed in the pickers, But do you
- 12:03Speaker 6: throw out the work, the whole body of work that
- 12:07Speaker 6: they performed during the season because of the loss of
- 12:10Speaker 6: a playoff game which was pretty decisive.
- 12:12Speaker 2: And that's my point.
- 12:13Speaker 4: And that's the same thing when we talk about coach
- 12:16Speaker 4: Thomas and the Stellers. You're in the playoffs every year,
- 12:19Speaker 4: You're you're you're again with Sam Daughter, you're improving with
- 12:23Speaker 4: coach Thomas. You have a steady dose of being in
- 12:26Speaker 4: the playoffs, but giving yourself a chance to advance and win.
- 12:30Speaker 4: Are we gonna be that quick just to move on?
- 12:34Speaker 2: Now? I'm this is not my answer, but I'm gonna
- 12:37Speaker 2: say yes. I don't. I don't think no.
- 12:40Speaker 4: With the way the pay is now, I'm not gonna
- 12:44Speaker 4: I can't. I can't allow you to just just have
- 12:48Speaker 4: a good season and you can't get me a you
- 12:52Speaker 4: can't get me a playoff game.
- 12:53Speaker 2: You're fifteen and two. Get it, I get it, I
- 12:57Speaker 2: get it.
- 12:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:58Speaker 6: But but but that it was an embarrassing loss. That
- 13:01Speaker 6: was that that that was a that was a loss
- 13:03Speaker 6: that probably shouldn't have happened.
- 13:05Speaker 4: Football specifically is not about having like fourteen and two,
- 13:09Speaker 4: and what did you do with the fourteen and two?
- 13:11Speaker 4: Fifteen and fifteen and two? What did you do with it?
- 13:13Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying, the playoffs? You made it
- 13:17Speaker 4: and what and you and you lost and you have
- 13:19Speaker 4: an opportunity to build. The problem is with with that
- 13:22Speaker 4: sort of with that line of thinking, those teams never win.
- 13:27Speaker 2: You could take a look at.
- 13:28Speaker 4: The Cowboys, right, they don't necessarily change players often per se.
- 13:33Speaker 4: They changed coaches every other year every couple of years,
- 13:36Speaker 4: and they are perennial, just doing good for a while.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Then they never advanced because why he never built continuity.
- 13:43Speaker 4: So I'm saying, with a guy like Sam darn who's
- 13:45Speaker 4: a young guy, again, some aspects of his games has
- 13:49Speaker 4: got to change, because if we look at like the
- 13:51Speaker 4: final quarterbacks that are in the divisional round, you know,
- 13:55Speaker 4: these are guys are you know you homes CJ. Stroud,
- 14:00Speaker 4: the kid from the Commanders, you have hurt these guys
- 14:05Speaker 4: you got obviously, Lamar Jackson. These are guys who can move, right,
- 14:09Speaker 4: These are guys who are going to get you there
- 14:11Speaker 4: two and three first downs a half. So I think
- 14:13Speaker 4: Sam Dartis has got a Justice game a little bit.
- 14:16Speaker 4: But I'm building continuity. But do you know if.
- 14:20Speaker 5: He can coaching?
- 14:21Speaker 6: And you're saying that that should come from the coaching
- 14:23Speaker 6: more so than the roster, right.
- 14:25Speaker 4: Well, I'm saying coaching and the roster I'm saying from
- 14:27Speaker 4: like if I'm playing the.
- 14:28Speaker 6: General mass, the responsibility general manager okay, general manager okay, yeah.
- 14:35Speaker 4: Yes, and no to the general manager, I'm saying, is
- 14:38Speaker 4: the responsibility to keep the continuity, to try to keep
- 14:42Speaker 4: something going and whether they lose. But but but the
- 14:48Speaker 4: accountability is going to go to the coach, and then
- 14:50Speaker 4: the coach then has to at some point in time
- 14:52Speaker 4: has to say, well, you know what, I gotta let
- 14:55Speaker 4: you go.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Brop.
- 14:59Speaker 4: So you're literally telling me what you have a young
- 15:02Speaker 4: kid here, young a young quarterback who started maybe a
- 15:05Speaker 4: year year and a half, who got you fifteen and two,
- 15:08Speaker 4: got you to the playoffs, and you're telling me you're
- 15:10Speaker 4: gonna ready to move on already.
- 15:14Speaker 2: It's not I'm not making that decision.
- 15:16Speaker 5: Is this his first or second year? What year is this?
- 15:18Speaker 2: It's like year three of them. I think it's four.
- 15:21Speaker 2: I think it's four. Four, I think it's four.
- 15:23Speaker 4: I think it's four. He spent some mad years with
- 15:25Speaker 4: the Jets. But I'm saying that you're still a young player.
- 15:28Speaker 5: I mean, how many years was he?
- 15:29Speaker 6: This is his first year with the Vikings, No, second, second,
- 15:32Speaker 6: That's what I first or second year with the Vikings
- 15:34Speaker 6: is what I'm meaning.
- 15:35Speaker 4: Okay, Well, see, I still think you I think there's
- 15:38Speaker 4: an expectation when you go out and you make these deals.
- 15:41Speaker 2: There's an expectation. Okay.
- 15:43Speaker 4: So I'm bringing Lisa in to be a receiver, and
- 15:47Speaker 4: I'm not going I'm not sitting here waiting on her.
- 15:49Speaker 4: I may give her a five year contract with this
- 15:52Speaker 4: amount of money, but I don't have five years to
- 15:54Speaker 4: wait on her to come and produce for me, like
- 15:56Speaker 4: I need her to show up now, Coach.
- 16:01Speaker 2: What do you want? Well, I'm confused.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Well, and I'm not I'm not really trying to take
- 16:07Speaker 4: anything too. I'm not really trying to take anything from
- 16:10Speaker 4: you are job. I'm not trying to take his job.
- 16:15Speaker 4: I'm not saying that I buy into that philosophy. I'm
- 16:18Speaker 4: just saying I think that's what the philosophy is in
- 16:21Speaker 4: the league.
- 16:22Speaker 6: Well, and let's look at this, this kind of this
- 16:24Speaker 6: angle the NFC North. At one time everybody thought that
- 16:28Speaker 6: was one of the strongest divisions in the NFL. And
- 16:32Speaker 6: they're on the edge. The only team that made the
- 16:35Speaker 6: wild card or is left is Detroit Lions, and they
- 16:38Speaker 6: got the buy right, so they what happens with them
- 16:43Speaker 6: if they end up sitting on the couch, that tells
- 16:45Speaker 6: you a lot about that division, which means I'm looking
- 16:48Speaker 6: at the fact that maybe it wasn't as strong and
- 16:52Speaker 6: maybe people.
- 16:52Speaker 5: Thought it was as people thought.
- 16:53Speaker 6: It was, and that you know, they were playing those
- 16:55Speaker 6: teams in the division that you know, beating up on
- 16:58Speaker 6: each other, and it looked like they were a better
- 17:00Speaker 6: team than they really were.
- 17:01Speaker 4: Possibly and Sam Donald just but he's not necessarily. He
- 17:04Speaker 4: came into the league in two thousand and eight, so
- 17:06Speaker 4: he spent three years with the Jets. He spent two
- 17:08Speaker 4: seasons with the Panthers, one with the forty nine ers,
- 17:11Speaker 4: and then in one with Minnesota. So he's been in
- 17:14Speaker 4: Minnesota first year, and I would say even those years
- 17:17Speaker 4: with the Jets in the Panther, those are sort of
- 17:19Speaker 4: dysfunctional organizations. So when he was actually able to get
- 17:23Speaker 4: with good organizations San Francisco, Minnesota, he's actually you know,
- 17:27Speaker 4: shown and proved. So he's been in the league for
- 17:29Speaker 4: a little while, so he's not necessarily a young guy.
- 17:31Speaker 4: He's been in the league for This is his seventhy
- 17:35Speaker 4: this week in the seventh se see and I hadn't
- 17:37Speaker 4: really followed him, so I didn't know that.
- 17:40Speaker 2: So I'm glad that you pulled that up.
- 17:41Speaker 4: But to that point, Okay, is there like this, is
- 17:47Speaker 4: there a growth period from here? Is there like somewhere
- 17:49Speaker 4: he's gonna get like, oh but this year, this next season,
- 17:53Speaker 4: this is his this is his breakout yet. But I
- 17:57Speaker 4: think this was a pretty I mean, he had a
- 18:00Speaker 4: good season, there's no question. Thirty five touchdowns to twelve picks,
- 18:06Speaker 4: he threw over forty three hundred yards, he had a
- 18:09Speaker 4: sixty percent, he had a sixty percent QBR.
- 18:12Speaker 2: He had a really good season had I think.
- 18:15Speaker 4: But the problem is is when it got heated, When
- 18:19Speaker 4: when the season when it mattered.
- 18:23Speaker 2: That's exactly yes.
- 18:26Speaker 6: And I would be curious to see their whole schedule,
- 18:29Speaker 6: the whole season and the teams that they played up.
- 18:31Speaker 5: Hollis is gonna get it, okay, and I would.
- 18:35Speaker 6: I would like to see, you know, their records and
- 18:38Speaker 6: how many of those actual teams were successful in the
- 18:42Speaker 6: wild card weekend because wild Card weekend was far from
- 18:45Speaker 6: wild it was pretty much it went exactly as you
- 18:48Speaker 6: know it should happen.
- 18:50Speaker 4: But you can only play who in front of you.
- 18:52Speaker 4: So I get I think that's a legitimate argument, but
- 18:56Speaker 4: I don't buy it. It's not like your you know,
- 18:58Speaker 4: Alabama scheduling a D two school. You in the NFL,
- 19:01Speaker 4: You're planning who's in front of you. So again, they
- 19:04Speaker 4: were fifteen and two in the regular season. Who was
- 19:06Speaker 4: in front of him? This was his first This is
- 19:08Speaker 4: I think I'm not gonna say it's his first year
- 19:10Speaker 4: as a starter, but this is his first year probably
- 19:12Speaker 4: in a healthy organization, surrounded by good players and good team.
- 19:17Speaker 4: He led them, And I'm just saying I'm not saying
- 19:20Speaker 4: he's going to be the answer long long term, but
- 19:23Speaker 4: I'm not ready to dump him now. I'm saying to
- 19:25Speaker 4: give the kid another couple of seasons, let him show
- 19:28Speaker 4: what he.
- 19:28Speaker 6: Can one season. I wouldn't give him a couple of Yeah,
- 19:31Speaker 6: I would give him one more year, one more the
- 19:33Speaker 6: best and.
- 19:34Speaker 5: Draft a quarterby Yes.
- 19:35Speaker 2: April Best, I'm giving him one.
- 19:38Speaker 4: I'm drafting off his line. Yeah, I'm possible. You're running back,
- 19:43Speaker 4: you know, like, come on, man, that's what. Wow, we're
- 19:47Speaker 4: just ready to dump you. I don't understand that. And
- 19:50Speaker 4: it is And again it's the same conversation about Thomas, like,
- 19:54Speaker 4: you're in the playoffs every single year, you are leading
- 19:59Speaker 4: your team, giving your team him a chance, and it's
- 20:01Speaker 4: literally people out there ready to say fire him or
- 20:05Speaker 4: trade him, to let him go.
- 20:09Speaker 2: I'm gonna think this out here.
- 20:11Speaker 6: Okay, Yeah, he's definitely a Hall of Fame quarterback, I
- 20:14Speaker 6: mean coach for sure. But he's had eight losses in
- 20:20Speaker 6: the wild card round and that's the second highest total
- 20:23Speaker 6: in NFL history. So once again, it's not about what
- 20:27Speaker 6: we're doing during the season. They lost their last five games,
- 20:30Speaker 6: their last five games they lost.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Now is that the team or is that him? Or
- 20:38Speaker 2: who do we blame this on? But are we blaming
- 20:40Speaker 2: for getting into the playoffs? We're blaming if you don't
- 20:43Speaker 2: keep moving.
- 20:44Speaker 4: But the thing is, we're blaming you for getting in
- 20:48Speaker 4: the playoffs.
- 20:49Speaker 5: You're in the playoffs year getting there. If you go
- 20:51Speaker 5: eight times to lose, that there's an issue.
- 20:54Speaker 4: There's no there is zero benefit, there is zero benefits
- 20:58Speaker 4: of making.
- 21:00Speaker 6: I mean, I like him that I don't know if
- 21:02Speaker 6: Pittsburgh is the place he needs to be anymore.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Listen, I'll make this case.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Like it or not, Okay, if you're not, if you're
- 21:12Speaker 4: not going to win a playoff game, why even bother?
- 21:17Speaker 2: Like, why are you talking?
- 21:19Speaker 4: Because if if you can't, if you can't, if you
- 21:23Speaker 4: can't keep moving up the ladder. I'm a quarterback at
- 21:30Speaker 4: that level again in Pittsburgh. But we all want to
- 21:33Speaker 4: win the games. We all want to try to make
- 21:35Speaker 4: the super Bowl every single year. But if I know
- 21:38Speaker 4: that I could pretty much count on this team and
- 21:40Speaker 4: my coach leading them to the playoffs, I'm giving myself
- 21:44Speaker 4: as if I'm thinking as a let's say i'm thinking
- 21:46Speaker 4: as a general manager or a team owner, I know
- 21:49Speaker 4: that my team has a shot because we're going to
- 21:51Speaker 4: be there again, even this season. He took two quarterbacks
- 21:55Speaker 4: that everybody threw away.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Everybody threw away and maybe we know why.
- 22:00Speaker 4: No, they've let him to the playoffs. They got to
- 22:03Speaker 4: the playoffs. You know why, because they can't get you
- 22:05Speaker 4: over the house. But they got to the playoffs. It
- 22:09Speaker 4: doesn't mean something. You get a playoff check. When you
- 22:11Speaker 4: played for the Minnesota did you get a playoff teck? Yes,
- 22:14Speaker 4: it means something.
- 22:15Speaker 5: People can see your faces right now. Me up.
- 22:18Speaker 6: Well, I'm not saying don't they'll throw I don't think
- 22:22Speaker 6: they'll kick Mike Tomlin to the to the curb. I
- 22:24Speaker 6: really don't.
- 22:25Speaker 5: I do think.
- 22:26Speaker 4: I think there's gonna be people that are gonna want
- 22:27Speaker 4: to well, of course, but who you gonna who you're
- 22:32Speaker 4: gonna get?
- 22:33Speaker 6: I don't think they will get. I think there will
- 22:35Speaker 6: be some coaching staff and roster changes in Pittsbagh. But
- 22:40Speaker 6: I do also think he's probably on that timeline of maybe.
- 22:43Speaker 5: Just a year or two of winning.
- 22:46Speaker 6: Yes, I mean, come on, now, how can you argue
- 22:49Speaker 6: it's losses in the.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Playoffs as a fundamental matter.
- 22:53Speaker 4: This is what's wrong with sports, is a fundamental matter
- 22:58Speaker 4: because we don't we don't give people, we don't give players, coaches,
- 23:04Speaker 4: we don't give you a chance to just go through
- 23:06Speaker 4: the adversity.
- 23:06Speaker 2: And come out on the other side.
- 23:08Speaker 5: That's a lot.
- 23:09Speaker 2: But you've made the playoffs to.
- 23:12Speaker 5: You can't get over the hump.
- 23:13Speaker 6: Man, I'm not hating anybody.
- 23:17Speaker 2: I'm my hat's off to you.
- 23:19Speaker 4: If you make the playoffs, it is it's it's my
- 23:22Speaker 4: hat's off to you.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Okay.
- 23:23Speaker 5: The wild card is not that.
- 23:28Speaker 4: But if you get in, if you get in, if
- 23:30Speaker 4: you get in for me, if you get in, Okay,
- 23:33Speaker 4: if you're in, that's a that's a big deal. That's
- 23:36Speaker 4: that's progress for the organization, yes, but for the for
- 23:41Speaker 4: the for the financially rewarded players. Who are the ones
- 23:47Speaker 4: who are who are the ones who take us over
- 23:50Speaker 4: the hump? Which is always more than likely going to
- 23:53Speaker 4: be a quarterback. And let's use this example that we're
- 23:57Speaker 4: that we're talking about now. If you can, if you
- 24:02Speaker 4: successfully put us in a hole when you get into
- 24:07Speaker 4: when we get into the playoffs and we keep losing
- 24:10Speaker 4: with you.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Under center, you are the problem.
- 24:16Speaker 4: Okay, key you or here's the You got three people
- 24:19Speaker 4: who that that can only be the issue quarterback, offensive coordinator.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Or head coach.
- 24:26Speaker 5: You going to what about defense?
- 24:29Speaker 2: And maybe the GM Yes, I think defense is key.
- 24:32Speaker 4: But the guy who's getting the money that is the quarterback.
- 24:38Speaker 4: And you're not gonna and you're and you're not gonna
- 24:40Speaker 4: be talking about a contract for a head coach, like
- 24:43Speaker 4: you're in Pittsburgh. How do you how do you walk
- 24:45Speaker 4: in there and say, Okay, and you know what I've
- 24:47Speaker 4: I've went to the I've went to the playoffs eight
- 24:50Speaker 4: years in a row. I've never not I've never not
- 24:52Speaker 4: missed the playoffs. I've never always always been in the playoffs.
- 24:56Speaker 6: I got a super Bowl, one of them Super Bowl,
- 25:00Speaker 6: and like I said.
- 25:02Speaker 4: And again, even in that game, the last game, they
- 25:05Speaker 4: made that second half, they almost came back and won
- 25:09Speaker 4: that game. But I can but I'm still I'm still
- 25:12Speaker 4: it's still not We're only on this conversation with him
- 25:16Speaker 4: because you you brought this one up. So I'm gonna
- 25:19Speaker 4: say that the fact that you brought him up, I
- 25:22Speaker 4: think that, yes, there there is a conversation of like
- 25:26Speaker 4: we well, there is conversation.
- 25:28Speaker 2: They're having this conversation on.
- 25:29Speaker 4: Sports News Network and they're saying like, okay, they're not
- 25:35Speaker 4: looking at like how many how many times you made
- 25:37Speaker 4: the playoffs? You know you you know you you've not
- 25:40Speaker 4: done anything there. Making the playoffs is one thing. Making
- 25:45Speaker 4: it year and year after year after year. Okay, that's
- 25:47Speaker 4: a good thing. But at some point you gotta. You
- 25:50Speaker 4: gotta get over the hump. At some point you gotta
- 25:53Speaker 4: because if you don't get over the hump, you you're
- 25:56Speaker 4: not helping us well.
- 25:58Speaker 6: And they they probably in Pittsburgh, need to take a
- 26:00Speaker 6: look at their defense as well, because the Ravens outrush
- 26:03Speaker 6: the Steelers two hundred and ninety nine yards to twenty nine.
- 26:06Speaker 5: So that's an issue.
- 26:08Speaker 7: And I can run the ball. Once you establish a run,
- 26:11Speaker 7: we all know what happened back. The runner back is
- 26:13Speaker 7: definitely not a extinct position. I think we've seen in
- 26:16Speaker 7: college football. We'll talking about later in the NFL.
- 26:19Speaker 4: If you got a good running back and if you
- 26:20Speaker 4: got an offensive line that can get that push, you
- 26:22Speaker 4: gonna win some playoffs.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Look at they either sure, well see and I think
- 26:25Speaker 2: the running game is coming back.
- 26:27Speaker 4: It's back, you know, because at this point, sure they
- 26:30Speaker 4: know that the defense is not tackling you getting the secondary.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Those guys are not tackling.
- 26:35Speaker 4: The Ravens had a drive where they had a thirteen
- 26:37Speaker 4: play drive. All runs end up in a touchdown. Thirteen
- 26:41Speaker 4: play drive in the NFL.
- 26:43Speaker 2: All runs, that has to go back, way back, way back.
- 26:47Speaker 2: I don't back into death.
- 26:48Speaker 4: Wait, that might be like seventy sixty like literally thirteen
- 26:52Speaker 4: played your thirteen runs touchdown. But I will say this,
- 26:57Speaker 4: and I understand that there's a point in which you
- 26:58Speaker 4: got to get over the hump. But I'll standards a
- 27:00Speaker 4: point of like continuity and you're dropping off. And I
- 27:03Speaker 4: think in Toma's case, he's not necessarily dropping off, although
- 27:07Speaker 4: it's not getting necessarily marketingly better as far as improving
- 27:11Speaker 4: your status and going further in the playoffs. So I
- 27:13Speaker 4: think that's a conversation that they will have to have
- 27:15Speaker 4: and you have to get better by doing things, like
- 27:17Speaker 4: you said, maybe adjusting that rosching coaching staff. In the
- 27:20Speaker 4: case of Sam Donaldson, like I think this is this
- 27:24Speaker 4: is his first season, so I think we have to
- 27:26Speaker 4: allow him a season or two to see what more
- 27:30Speaker 4: they can.
- 27:30Speaker 5: Do one years.
- 27:35Speaker 6: Here's the other part of it, to guys, and you'll
- 27:37Speaker 6: have to agree, it's the fan base, Yes, that you've
- 27:40Speaker 6: got to worry about. Like they they get you know,
- 27:43Speaker 6: this is they spend a lot of money to see quality.
- 27:46Speaker 4: You know, teams those two organizations quality.
- 27:50Speaker 5: They want to win a playoff game. They want to
- 27:52Speaker 5: see that.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Where the cowboys or you can be like the cowboys.
- 27:56Speaker 4: We're gon we're gonna pick this up just a little
- 28:00Speaker 4: bit coming back out of the break. But I'm gonna
- 28:02Speaker 4: just say this, I don't know, Hollis, where you get
- 28:06Speaker 4: that winning a playoff game satisfy as a fan. I'll
- 28:13Speaker 4: hold off, You'll hold off, hold out by thy good.
- 28:15Speaker 4: We got to take a quick break and we'll be
- 28:17Speaker 4: right back.
- 28:18Speaker 8: Let's face it, bad things happen to good people seriously
- 28:21Speaker 8: injured in a car accident, trucking accident, or even wrongfully arrested.

- 29:19Speaker 2: All right, ladies and gentlemen.
- 29:20Speaker 4: Uh we we pretty much successfully argued pretty much in
- 29:26Speaker 4: the first session of the show. And Hollis I think,
- 29:31Speaker 4: was it Hollis or at least one of y'all had
- 29:33Speaker 4: something you wanted to get. What I'm saying is like
- 29:35Speaker 4: I think as a fan, because you talked about just
- 29:38Speaker 4: getting to the playoffs won't well, excuse me, will not
- 29:42Speaker 4: satisfy the fan base. And I'm saying, as a fan,
- 29:44Speaker 4: if my team is in the playoffs consistently, I'm fine
- 29:49Speaker 4: with that. And again, as a fan, you want your
- 29:50Speaker 4: team to win in excel but if I have an opportunity,
- 29:53Speaker 4: but I don't have the opportunity if I'm sitting at home,
- 29:56Speaker 4: the Bengals are sitting at home. They had a winning record,
- 29:58Speaker 4: they didn't do what they needed to do in the
- 29:59Speaker 4: beginning of the season. They're sitting at home. So I'm
- 30:02Speaker 4: sure a Bengal fan right now would rather for them
- 30:05Speaker 4: to be in the playoffs than be sitting at home,
- 30:08Speaker 4: whether it was a first round loss, second round loss.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Or one.
- 30:10Speaker 6: That's because they're not there all the time. I think,
- 30:12Speaker 6: I think, I don't know. I mean, I think it
- 30:14Speaker 6: makes a difference with with the Steelers. It seems like
- 30:17Speaker 6: they they go most every year to a playoff game
- 30:21Speaker 6: and then they lose. And that's the problem. That's when
- 30:23Speaker 6: the fans get anty. When you skip three, four or
- 30:26Speaker 6: five years of not going to the playoffs and I
- 30:28Speaker 6: think there's no expectation, and then you make a playoff.
- 30:31Speaker 6: Then you're then you're like, Okay, we lost, but we
- 30:33Speaker 6: made the playoffs. Yes, But when you start making the
- 30:35Speaker 6: playoffs year in and year out and keep losing that.
- 30:38Speaker 5: Wild card game, there's a problem. The fans are mad.
- 30:42Speaker 6: They're not they don't accept that because they're used to.
- 30:45Speaker 6: They want to, they want to take it to the
- 30:47Speaker 6: next level because they've been.
- 30:48Speaker 5: To the playoff game. They're not appreciative of it.
- 30:51Speaker 4: As a West Virginia resident, as a West Virginia resident,
- 30:56Speaker 4: I would much rather go back to where that we
- 31:00Speaker 4: are there, hopefully go back to rich Rod and don
- 31:03Speaker 4: Niel and days when we were constantly in the mix. Again,
- 31:07Speaker 4: neither one of the coaches won a championship, but they
- 31:09Speaker 4: were constantly in the mix, as opposed to what's happened
- 31:12Speaker 4: in the last five ten seasons where we just ain't
- 31:15Speaker 4: nowhere on the national You can say that in hindsight,
- 31:18Speaker 4: I'm saying that.
- 31:20Speaker 2: No, No, I'm saying that because I've been through both.
- 31:23Speaker 4: I've been through where we're just we're not quite over
- 31:25Speaker 4: the hump, but we're constantly in the mix, and then
- 31:28Speaker 4: been these last few years where it's just we ain't
- 31:31Speaker 4: nowhere in the mix, We're not even on the national discussion.
- 31:33Speaker 4: I'd rather be in the mix. Okay, Well, let me
- 31:35Speaker 4: ask this question. Let me ask this question. Okay, So
- 31:39Speaker 4: you you want to be in the mix. So you
- 31:41Speaker 4: want to you so, okay, So I'm the player, Okay,
- 31:46Speaker 4: so you're the coach and you want to be in
- 31:47Speaker 4: the mix, and you're satisfied.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Being in the satisfied.
- 31:50Speaker 4: I'm saying that as long as you be there, and
- 31:53Speaker 4: give myself an opportunity, and I'm I'm watching Lisa's team.
- 31:57Speaker 4: You know, I'm I'm on your team. I'm playing for you,
- 32:00Speaker 4: and I'm watching Least's team get to the super Bowl, win,
- 32:05Speaker 4: win it, lose it, win at least a couple of
- 32:07Speaker 4: playoff games, and then get put out.
- 32:10Speaker 2: I want that, But Okay, here's what I'm saying. Though
- 32:15Speaker 2: I like that. We all want that.
- 32:18Speaker 4: But even if you look at the NFL, if you
- 32:20Speaker 4: probably look up the last twenty seasons, who's been in
- 32:22Speaker 4: the who's been in the super Bowl. It's been in
- 32:24Speaker 4: the Chiefs. It's been the Patriots, It's been the Eagles,
- 32:27Speaker 4: It's been the Rams. It's been the same team. Right,
- 32:30Speaker 4: so most teams, so eighty percent of the teams in
- 32:33Speaker 4: the NFL ain't even making it. Are not consistently making
- 32:36Speaker 4: the super Bowl, They're not making rounds and rounds.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Of the playoffs.
- 32:39Speaker 4: So if I have a coach over that span of
- 32:41Speaker 4: time who has consistently pit me in the mix, who
- 32:44Speaker 4: consistently give me my organization an opportunity, I'm not saying
- 32:48Speaker 4: I'm satisfied in totality, but I can live with that
- 32:53Speaker 4: as opposed to what like the Cowboys doing or or
- 32:55Speaker 4: another team where it's kind of up and down.
- 32:57Speaker 2: I'll live with Tom. I think I think Tom look
- 33:01Speaker 2: to me, I don't.
- 33:02Speaker 4: Think he he he should be fired.
- 33:05Speaker 6: I think that he has done Oh I think he
- 33:08Speaker 6: will be fired. I think he leaves on his own terms.
- 33:11Speaker 6: I mean, I really I feel like he's done enough
- 33:12Speaker 6: in Pittsburgh and the fact that he's probably going to
- 33:14Speaker 6: the Hall of Fame.
- 33:15Speaker 5: I think he will leave on his own term.
- 33:17Speaker 2: Okay, so let me ask Okay, so let me he
- 33:19Speaker 2: may get.
- 33:19Speaker 6: Some pressure to leave on his own terms, but I
- 33:21Speaker 6: don't think they'll have a fire him.
- 33:23Speaker 2: But so let me ask this. If when would be
- 33:27Speaker 2: that time? Is it now?
- 33:28Speaker 5: Is it not now?
- 33:30Speaker 4: I think I think for him it would depend on
- 33:34Speaker 4: probably the opportunity, because I think he do you go,
- 33:37Speaker 4: does he go seek it? Or does somebody come knocking
- 33:40Speaker 4: on his door. I think it could be either way,
- 33:42Speaker 4: but it has to be the right opportunity. And I'll say,
- 33:44Speaker 4: and I'll use Andy Reid as a as an example. Right,
- 33:47Speaker 4: Andy Reid, he was in Philly again, same sort of situation.
- 33:51Speaker 4: He would go to the playoffs, get to the NFC Championships.
- 33:54Speaker 4: Every year they were in the mix anyways, but never
- 33:56Speaker 4: quite got over the hump. And then you go to
- 33:58Speaker 4: a situation in Kansas City where you have a guy
- 34:01Speaker 4: like Patrick Mahomes or you do like the Phil Jackson
- 34:03Speaker 4: thing while going from the Bulls to the Lakers.
- 34:05Speaker 2: But I got Shaq and Kelby over here.
- 34:07Speaker 4: So I think for Thomas and you would have Thomas,
- 34:09Speaker 4: you would have to go to a situation where you
- 34:12Speaker 4: got like a perennial Hall of Fame quarterback, where you're
- 34:15Speaker 4: not trying to at least create that position.
- 34:17Speaker 2: You gotta go somewhere.
- 34:19Speaker 4: Well, Okay, I could put some defense around this kid,
- 34:21Speaker 4: I could puss some give me some running backs for receivers,
- 34:23Speaker 4: but I gotta have that guy in the center.
- 34:25Speaker 2: So you gotta go.
- 34:26Speaker 4: You gotta find that that opportunity and then maybe you
- 34:29Speaker 4: can go from there. But I don't imagine the situation
- 34:32Speaker 4: where you're going to, you know, organization, where you're gonna
- 34:34Speaker 4: have to like Cleveland, where you're just starting all over
- 34:37Speaker 4: that that wouldn't work for him. So I'm going to
- 34:39Speaker 4: a situation where I got that quarterback. I know I
- 34:43Speaker 4: got him for the next team. But if to your point,
- 34:45Speaker 4: if I'm Cleveland and I really, really want you you ain't.
- 34:50Speaker 2: You cant stop that right now.
- 34:51Speaker 4: I'm just gonna say, I'm gonna throw a bunch of
- 34:53Speaker 4: money in front of you.
- 34:54Speaker 2: You know, now, does he does? He does? He does
- 34:57Speaker 2: he bite on the money? No? Probably, maybe not.
- 35:01Speaker 6: I don't think he goes anywhere this year, honest, I
- 35:03Speaker 6: don't know. I do think there'll be changes around him.
- 35:05Speaker 6: I do think there will be major changes around him,
- 35:08Speaker 6: roster assistant coaches, but they will keep him.
- 35:12Speaker 5: I mean, he's the face of the steal.
- 35:13Speaker 2: I think so. I think that. I think that too.
- 35:17Speaker 4: I think what what a lot of these programs in
- 35:20Speaker 4: this situation that we've talked about already. I think what
- 35:25Speaker 4: you do is, if you're going to do something, I
- 35:30Speaker 4: think you go in and as the as the head coach,
- 35:34Speaker 4: you need to know you need to you need another
- 35:36Speaker 4: defensive coordinator, you need another offensive coordinator, you need you know,
- 35:40Speaker 4: a receiver coach. You need somebody in there to give
- 35:45Speaker 4: you something a little bit different. Now, if you are
- 35:49Speaker 4: the head coach and the coordinator, that's a that's an issue.
- 35:51Speaker 4: Maybe you should just be the head coach and maybe
- 35:54Speaker 4: you should get you a coordinator and you can still
- 35:57Speaker 4: talk with him about what you kind of want to do,
- 36:00Speaker 4: because I think that also takes some of that pressure.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Off of you as being that guy.
- 36:06Speaker 4: Because usually the guy who's gonna the first guy that
- 36:09Speaker 4: you're gonna blame is you're gonna be your coordinator.
- 36:11Speaker 2: You know you're gonna get rid of him. But when
- 36:13Speaker 2: you're when you're the head coach and.
- 36:15Speaker 4: You're the offensive coordinator, and and and you know you're
- 36:20Speaker 4: you're you're sacked nine times, that's on you. So who
- 36:26Speaker 4: do I got this weekend? Uh got the division round?
- 36:29Speaker 4: So we got Texans versus the Chiefs. We got Commanders
- 36:32Speaker 4: versus the Lions, Rams versus Eagles, and the Ravens versus Bill.
- 36:36Speaker 2: So start with Texans versus Chiefs. Who you got?
- 36:39Speaker 5: Oh? I think the Chiefs.
- 36:40Speaker 2: I got the Chiefs? Do I really going? Patrick Mahone,
- 36:46Speaker 2: I'm gonna you gotta go with the.
- 36:47Speaker 4: Chiefs, all right, Commanders versus Lions.
- 36:52Speaker 5: That's that's a tough one.
- 36:54Speaker 4: That might be the best game that that anybody can
- 36:57Speaker 4: watch this weekend.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, Daniel's special quarterback.
- 37:01Speaker 4: But I love the Lions coach and all kind of
- 37:03Speaker 4: love the program that they're building out there.
- 37:07Speaker 2: I watched the ESPN segment of for the Lions. It's great.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Yeah they got Yeah.
- 37:16Speaker 4: If I had to say, who do I, I'll just
- 37:18Speaker 4: make it easy. I'm looking for Detroit to win the
- 37:21Speaker 4: super Bowl. Okay, really I want I like this game.
- 37:26Speaker 4: I want Detroit to win the super Bowl. Okay, so
- 37:28Speaker 4: what about Rams.
- 37:29Speaker 5: Eagles, Eagles They're they're just so good. They're good. That's
- 37:33Speaker 5: who I think will win this.
- 37:34Speaker 4: Here's the best game. I mean, this is what I
- 37:36Speaker 4: would like to see in the super Bowl. This is
- 37:39Speaker 4: the I think the Super Bowl game. This will be
- 37:41Speaker 4: probably one of the most competitive games. Rams versus Bills.
- 37:45Speaker 4: Excuse me, Ravens versus Bills. Mmm, you've got you kick
- 37:50Speaker 4: my Lions out?
- 37:51Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 37:52Speaker 4: No, no, no, I'm saying this is the this is
- 37:55Speaker 4: the original Eagles.
- 37:57Speaker 2: Play the Rams.
- 37:58Speaker 5: You think will beat the Eagles?
- 37:59Speaker 2: No, no, no, I misspoke.
- 38:01Speaker 4: Rams versus Eagles and on Sunday and then Ravens versus.
- 38:05Speaker 2: Bill on Sunday.
- 38:05Speaker 5: Okay, okay, so.
- 38:07Speaker 2: I'm saying Ravens versus Bills. Who you got? I think
- 38:10Speaker 2: that's the best game.
- 38:11Speaker 5: I don't I like Mafia Nation, but I think I
- 38:14Speaker 5: think that you.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Know, now it's in Buffalo.
- 38:17Speaker 5: I'm gonna go if it's Yeah.
- 38:21Speaker 4: Now, we also got the college football player the championship
- 38:24Speaker 4: coming up, So we got Ohio State v.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Notre Dame. So what a what a what a historic
- 38:32Speaker 2: history match of it?
- 38:33Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying Like that that matchup is
- 38:37Speaker 4: like I can almost make the case like I don't
- 38:39Speaker 4: even really care who wins. It's just the fact that
- 38:43Speaker 4: I can remember growing up as a kid and hearing
- 38:46Speaker 4: those two teams playing each other, and it was that
- 38:48Speaker 4: was something special.
- 38:49Speaker 2: And I'm so glad the SEC is out of it.
- 38:53Speaker 2: So it's just no SEC.
- 38:55Speaker 5: They are heartbroken in the South.
- 38:57Speaker 2: I'm good for him too. If I have to.
- 39:01Speaker 4: If I'm gonna have to pick one, though, I'm gonna
- 39:03Speaker 4: I'm going to probably go oh State.
- 39:06Speaker 5: Yeah me too.
- 39:07Speaker 2: I think they're just going to.
- 39:08Speaker 4: Come down to his quarterback play right, And I don't
- 39:10Speaker 4: think it's going to come down to like necessarily the
- 39:13Speaker 4: quarterback who plays the best. It's going to be the
- 39:15Speaker 4: one who makes the least amount of mistakes and could
- 39:17Speaker 4: just make a player too, because both of these defense,
- 39:20Speaker 4: I mean Washington games, these defense are crazy and I
- 39:24Speaker 4: think they get equal.
- 39:25Speaker 5: About scoring game.
- 39:26Speaker 4: I think it's gonna be a lower scoring game. I
- 39:28Speaker 4: would say sub twenty one twenty two.
- 39:31Speaker 2: For each team.
- 39:32Speaker 4: And to your point about the defense, this is this,
- 39:35Speaker 4: this is the type of These are the type of
- 39:38Speaker 4: defenses who get to the ball right right, and and
- 39:43Speaker 4: so you you know, you can shake one one tackler
- 39:46Speaker 4: and by the time you square back up, there's somebody
- 39:49Speaker 4: else's you know, there are one hundred and ten trying
- 39:53Speaker 4: to get to the ball. Carry when you have that
- 39:56Speaker 4: type of play man that it was fast, Yeah, yeah,
- 40:02Speaker 4: that's it again. I just think it's gonna come down
- 40:05Speaker 4: to the quarterback. I would love to see just kind
- 40:08Speaker 4: of speaking of an old school I would love to
- 40:10Speaker 4: see this game played on grass natural, I mean, just
- 40:15Speaker 4: to have the grass things on it, just like I
- 40:17Speaker 4: think that would just like cement it.
- 40:19Speaker 6: Let me let me ask you guys, because I have
- 40:21Speaker 6: failed to find this information, but what bowl is the
- 40:24Speaker 6: championship game?
- 40:25Speaker 5: Which one is it? Where are they playing at?
- 40:27Speaker 2: I thought it was Let me look, I thought it
- 40:28Speaker 2: was a toss.
- 40:30Speaker 5: Is it would be in Arizona?
- 40:33Speaker 2: I believe so.
- 40:35Speaker 5: Let me so.
- 40:38Speaker 6: For both teams that that's quite a distance for both
- 40:41Speaker 6: teams to travel, then right.
- 40:42Speaker 2: They probably I'm gonna assume.
- 40:43Speaker 5: I mean, I was just wondering which fan base would
- 40:45Speaker 5: show up.
- 40:46Speaker 6: But you know that they both have such a following
- 40:49Speaker 6: it doesn't matter where they play.
- 40:50Speaker 4: They could figure that no matter where they I don't
- 40:54Speaker 4: think it's a name Bowl. It's like the college Football
- 40:57Speaker 4: Championship presented by AT and t SO Fiesta. We were
- 41:00Speaker 4: thinking the old school. Yeah, trying to think is it
- 41:03Speaker 4: played in Jerry's world? Oh, trying to think where it's
- 41:07Speaker 4: played at.
- 41:08Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 41:09Speaker 6: Oh well, but I just I was curious about location
- 41:13Speaker 6: of it, according to you know where the fans, but
- 41:15Speaker 6: you know, Ohio State and Notre Dame, they're not too
- 41:17Speaker 6: really far apart.
- 41:18Speaker 2: I mean it checked this out.
- 41:20Speaker 4: I think it's in New Orleans. It's the Mercedes ben Stadium,
- 41:23Speaker 4: New Orleans. Oh okay, and it looks it says tickets
- 41:26Speaker 4: is low as one dollars.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Tickets as low as that.
- 41:31Speaker 5: I'll take two.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I can bring the whole family.
- 41:34Speaker 4: Yeah no, no, I'm sorry, not not New Orleans, but
- 41:38Speaker 4: in Mercedes Been Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
- 41:41Speaker 2: Sorry about that. We've been all over there across Yeah,
- 41:45Speaker 2: we got it right file.
- 41:46Speaker 5: So it's in Georgia.
- 41:47Speaker 6: Well, that's even more salt on the wound for the
- 41:50Speaker 6: SEC knowing it's in their territory, you know, and.
- 41:53Speaker 2: See, that's the kind of game in Georgia.
- 41:55Speaker 4: Is the kind of place that folks will travel to
- 41:57Speaker 4: that oh sure centralized.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Yeah, easy easy, white, easy drive. I can see.
- 42:05Speaker 4: I can see that being, you know, a packed house
- 42:08Speaker 4: with actual true fans, not like that. But I think
- 42:15Speaker 4: that that's gonna be that'll be a it's gonna it's
- 42:18Speaker 4: gonna be a great game though, But I don't know.
- 42:21Speaker 2: It takes you back though, back.
- 42:23Speaker 4: When those types of teams always were like the top teams,
- 42:28Speaker 4: you know, and playing in the style of play as
- 42:31Speaker 4: we mentioned where it's sort of defensive leg we don't
- 42:34Speaker 4: have like the quarterbacks who necessarily I think, just take
- 42:37Speaker 4: it over in all aspects.
- 42:39Speaker 2: So it's gonna be a team effort offensively. So I
- 42:43Speaker 2: think it's gonna be a fun game to watch, you know.
- 42:47Speaker 4: I think it's gonna I think it's gonna I think
- 42:49Speaker 4: it's gonna be for me as a as a defensive
- 42:54Speaker 4: kind of guy. I'm looking at the contact and all
- 42:56Speaker 4: that kind of stuff. I think I think both of
- 42:58Speaker 4: these teams defenses are absolutely amazing and they're just fast.
- 43:03Speaker 4: They're getting everywhere and it'll be interesting to me to
- 43:06Speaker 4: see who's I actually will outplay who And I think
- 43:09Speaker 4: special teams could be end up being big where offense.
- 43:12Speaker 4: Oh yeah, the scoring is gonna be at a premium,
- 43:14Speaker 4: so we may even look for the defense to score,
- 43:15Speaker 4: special teams to score. And like I said, we just
- 43:18Speaker 4: got to have the quarterback. Whoever's going to make the
- 43:20Speaker 4: least of minor state mistakes, I think it's gonna end
- 43:22Speaker 4: up winning that game.
- 43:22Speaker 8: There you go.
- 43:23Speaker 2: I think that's say Ohio State. I don't know. I
- 43:25Speaker 2: don't know how to do the betting. I guess the minuses.
- 43:28Speaker 2: Is that the one the favorite. I don't think.
- 43:33Speaker 5: You can call ESPN. They have their own n app
- 43:37Speaker 5: or whatever for forgam.
- 43:38Speaker 2: I think Ohio's yeah states favorite.
- 43:41Speaker 5: Oh wow, yeah, I wanted to get your thoughts on this.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Guys.
- 43:45Speaker 6: We'll go back to the NFL if you don't mind
- 43:46Speaker 6: for just a minute. But when I said that the
- 43:49Speaker 6: wild card games weren't wild this year, did you notice
- 43:52Speaker 6: there was only like usually you have maybe two, like
- 43:56Speaker 6: there's six. There were six wildcard games and usually out
- 43:59Speaker 6: of the six there's two three.
- 44:00Speaker 5: I mean upsets. There was only one this year, and
- 44:03Speaker 5: that was that the Commanders.
- 44:05Speaker 6: Who kicked that ugly field goal that did the doint
- 44:08Speaker 6: point and went through and that's how they won the game.
- 44:11Speaker 6: But did you notice the other games were they were
- 44:13Speaker 6: blowouts pretty much?
- 44:14Speaker 5: I mean, they weren't close.
- 44:15Speaker 4: And I don't even know if we would constitute that
- 44:17Speaker 4: as an upset, no, because I mean the Commanders they
- 44:20Speaker 4: were twelve and five.
- 44:21Speaker 5: Yeah, but I mean they were playing at the Buccaneers. Yeah,
- 44:24Speaker 5: so that's and I all the home teams won. Put
- 44:29Speaker 5: it that way.
- 44:29Speaker 2: I've yet to try to I have yet to figure
- 44:31Speaker 2: this this this question out.
- 44:33Speaker 4: I don't know if either one of you all can
- 44:35Speaker 4: answer it, or if somebody knows the answer to it,
- 44:38Speaker 4: please hit me up on Facebook.
- 44:41Speaker 2: Let's talk with Carl Lee or Carl Lee. All right, So.
- 44:46Speaker 4: When the Vikings lost, like why did they drop in
- 44:53Speaker 4: the in the rankings of the playoffs?
- 44:55Speaker 2: How did that happen?
- 44:56Speaker 4: Like what was the how was that system set up
- 44:58Speaker 4: to where they would drop they significantly?
- 45:01Speaker 2: Significantly?
- 45:02Speaker 4: Like like you're like to your point, which you mean
- 45:04Speaker 4: when they lost in the regular season, yes, yeah, and
- 45:07Speaker 4: then they at the end of the season, they lose
- 45:10Speaker 4: and then they.
- 45:10Speaker 5: Didn't they lose The Lions lost the Lions. Well, that's
- 45:13Speaker 5: probably why.
- 45:14Speaker 2: Who wanted to did the Lions?
- 45:17Speaker 4: Yeah, they want a division So maybe that's why they
- 45:19Speaker 4: were a wildcard team instead of a division winner because
- 45:23Speaker 4: and I didn't I didn't look at it that simple
- 45:26Speaker 4: because I was like thinking, well, wait a minute, how
- 45:29Speaker 4: how are they not like you have a buy or something.
- 45:32Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's.
- 45:33Speaker 5: Why each division winner gets a buy.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Correct. Yes, did they lose the Alliance twice? I think so, Yes,
- 45:41Speaker 2: I think they did. Then that's it. That's why, because
- 45:43Speaker 2: they go by your division record, not your overall record.
- 45:47Speaker 6: And that's why there was such a commotion about the
- 45:49Speaker 6: NFC North and all the teams were so you know,
- 45:53Speaker 6: they were they were winning, they were beating teams outside
- 45:55Speaker 6: of their division there for a little beating each other
- 45:58Speaker 6: up and beating each other up.
- 45:59Speaker 4: Yeah, because I remember years ago there was a like
- 46:02Speaker 4: I remember the Patriots were like eleven in at the time,
- 46:05Speaker 4: with like eleven and five, and they didn't make the
- 46:07Speaker 4: playoffs because they had some bad.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Would you like that? Would you like to see that
- 46:12Speaker 2: change to where it's best records.
- 46:18Speaker 4: Division even the best record overall, just the best record
- 46:22Speaker 4: to the top. You just go from the best team
- 46:26Speaker 4: that's got the best record and you drop down until
- 46:29Speaker 4: you get.
- 46:30Speaker 5: To regardless of whether you won your division.
- 46:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's just it's just because sometimes.
- 46:34Speaker 5: The divisions are weak, like a lot of times.
- 46:37Speaker 6: And you remember this historically when the Patriots were in
- 46:40Speaker 6: their division, they didn't have a real tough road to
- 46:42Speaker 6: the super Bowl.
- 46:43Speaker 4: That's a fact. In the NFC South, it can be tough,
- 46:46Speaker 4: but bad. Yes, exactly exactly. I would that's a that's
- 46:51Speaker 4: actually an interesting point because I want the best teams.
- 46:56Speaker 4: But I like the idea of like you having to
- 46:59Speaker 4: go through that gauntlant that is your conference. And I'm
- 47:01Speaker 4: just thinking, like, again, we all know there's good and
- 47:03Speaker 4: bad teams in the NFL, but it's still the NFL, right,
- 47:06Speaker 4: So I like the idea that you know, you have
- 47:09Speaker 4: to win your conference. You know, again there are okay
- 47:12Speaker 4: with the team. Okay, so let's say that that the
- 47:15Speaker 4: team the number one team in the conference, they're they're
- 47:18Speaker 4: automatically in, and then after that best records.
- 47:21Speaker 2: I mean, that's kind of how it works.
- 47:24Speaker 5: I don't know, I really don't. I need to do
- 47:26Speaker 5: some research.
- 47:26Speaker 6: I don't understand how it works, Like it seems like
- 47:29Speaker 6: there were some teams that had better records than others
- 47:32Speaker 6: that made the wild card.
- 47:34Speaker 5: I mean that, you know what I mean left the
- 47:36Speaker 5: wild card. I don't know how it works.
- 47:39Speaker 4: I think that's pretty much how it works. Like you
- 47:41Speaker 4: go division winners like division, and then you know there's
- 47:48Speaker 4: because the Vikings.
- 47:49Speaker 2: I feel like the Vikings should have been in a
- 47:51Speaker 2: different situation than what what they were.
- 47:54Speaker 4: They were wild card, yeah, they were with what to
- 48:00Speaker 4: and no again the Vikings were again yeah they were
- 48:04Speaker 4: fourteen and three. They had three losses in the division.
- 48:07Speaker 4: Excuse me, two losses in the division. And Detroit was
- 48:10Speaker 4: six and zero in the division. So again you had
- 48:13Speaker 4: two losses in the division. Hence why although you had
- 48:17Speaker 4: a pretty good overall record, you know, stood down because
- 48:21Speaker 4: again y'all had at the NFC North, you had three
- 48:23Speaker 4: teams to make the playoffs, so you had Detroit, Minnesota,
- 48:26Speaker 4: and Green Bay.
- 48:27Speaker 2: So it is it is so it is best worker.
- 48:29Speaker 4: But I think, like to your point, like you know,
- 48:32Speaker 4: for example, like Tampa Bay was ten and seven, Seattle
- 48:35Speaker 4: was ten and seven, Seattle didn't make the playoffs, So
- 48:38Speaker 4: I think it would maybe situations like that.
- 48:40Speaker 2: Yeah, but again, how do.
- 48:41Speaker 4: You determine that with teams are different conferences and the
- 48:44Speaker 4: Seattle they both had the same division record, but Tampa
- 48:49Speaker 4: Bay won their division in Seattle didn't.
- 48:51Speaker 2: Yeah, so.
- 48:54Speaker 4: So and well see Tampa Bay had a better conference record.
- 48:58Speaker 4: So I think you do all these things to sort
- 49:00Speaker 4: of break tiebreakers, I guess, and I should of all
- 49:05Speaker 4: the folks should know, it should be me, and I
- 49:07Speaker 4: have no clue. Okay at this point, so at least,
- 49:12Speaker 4: I mean, I hate, I hate to bring up the
- 49:13Speaker 4: Packers since then.
- 49:15Speaker 5: I knew you would.
- 49:17Speaker 2: I hate to bring up the Packers. But what what
- 49:20Speaker 2: what's going on there? What do you think is going
- 49:22Speaker 2: to happen there?
- 49:23Speaker 6: I mean, I just think with Jordan Love, first of all,
- 49:26Speaker 6: he's young. That they're the youngest team in the NFL.
- 49:29Speaker 6: We know that the Packers are the youngest youngest players.
- 49:31Speaker 6: They they've got some lessons, some hard lessons to learn
- 49:34Speaker 6: before they're ready to to win playoff games. But I
- 49:37Speaker 6: really feel like Jordan Love's play after he'd gotten hurt
- 49:40Speaker 6: early in the season. I just don't think he ever
- 49:42Speaker 6: fully recovered from you know that that injury.
- 49:46Speaker 5: I'm not certain.
- 49:47Speaker 6: I think it was maybe a groin injury or maybe
- 49:49Speaker 6: a leg I'm not sure, but I really feel like
- 49:51Speaker 6: after that he was touch and go, like you think
- 49:54Speaker 6: he was getting healed, and then he would reaggravate it
- 49:57Speaker 6: and then the next game he wouldn't look the same.
- 49:59Speaker 6: He would be throwing in and just not the play
- 50:02Speaker 6: that that we expected of him. And it seemed like
- 50:05Speaker 6: this year, you know, in the past, because you remember
- 50:07Speaker 6: what they did to the Cowboys last year during the
- 50:09Speaker 6: wildcard game.
- 50:09Speaker 5: That was that was something.
- 50:11Speaker 6: I mean I heard about it a lot, but I
- 50:14Speaker 6: just feel like from that point on, they suffered a
- 50:17Speaker 6: lot of injuries, not just to Love, but then they
- 50:19Speaker 6: lost like Watson.
- 50:21Speaker 5: I think they lost him.
- 50:24Speaker 6: And he was out for the season with a torn
- 50:25Speaker 6: a c L so that they they had some some
- 50:28Speaker 6: key player injuries that that played a part of it.
- 50:31Speaker 2: Where do you all go, What are you thinking? If
- 50:33Speaker 2: you know, what are you thinking about draft wise?
- 50:36Speaker 8: Like?
- 50:37Speaker 2: What what is there anything?
- 50:40Speaker 6: I mean, I like Josh Jacobs, I think he's a
- 50:42Speaker 6: great running back. I really feel like we need some receivers.
- 50:45Speaker 6: I mean, it just seemed like once we to you know,
- 50:48Speaker 6: there are two receivers really were out and hurt. After that,
- 50:52Speaker 6: we didn't have anybody to they could put onto the
- 50:53Speaker 6: ball or throw, you know, throw to, So receivers would
- 50:56Speaker 6: be my focus. Offensive line they're average, think they're okay.
- 51:00Speaker 6: I think with when Jordan gets healthy, he he'll be okay.
- 51:04Speaker 2: With that, I think.
- 51:06Speaker 4: I think for the Bikings, I think the Bikings they
- 51:09Speaker 4: need they need offensive line. Yeah, to your to your point, Hollis,
- 51:16Speaker 4: I think they need some guys who can come in
- 51:18Speaker 4: and go after a job. Now, even though they'd be inexperienced,
- 51:23Speaker 4: they'll learn it, they'll get it. But I think I think,
- 51:27Speaker 4: which I know they're not going to do. They're not
- 51:29Speaker 4: going to get a draft quarterback. They're not going to
- 51:32Speaker 4: draft quarterback that's going to be out. But they've got
- 51:34Speaker 4: to find a quarterback.
- 51:36Speaker 2: I think that.
- 51:40Speaker 4: That's used to being in that situation. That's used to
- 51:44Speaker 4: being in that situation some kind of way.
- 51:46Speaker 2: I'm not talking about. I'm just saying, took.
- 51:49Speaker 5: Brett Farv and so you might as well take Aaron Russ.
- 51:53Speaker 2: I hope not.
- 51:54Speaker 5: I hope, but I think he'll be back. Do you
- 51:58Speaker 5: guys think he'll I think he'll. I don't think he will.
- 52:02Speaker 2: I hope go out like that. Maybe right, but I'm
- 52:05Speaker 2: just curious to where you go. Yeah, I don't know.
- 52:08Speaker 5: Somebody will pick him up.
- 52:09Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm not sure that I don't nobody.
- 52:12Speaker 2: These guys don't follow.
- 52:14Speaker 4: Like again, if you're if you're an older quarterback, follow
- 52:16Speaker 4: what Brett far, follow what Tom Brady did.
- 52:18Speaker 2: Go somewhere hot, Go somewhere with a stadium.
- 52:21Speaker 4: Yeah, you know what I mean, because I mean you're older,
- 52:23Speaker 4: Like you said, you don't want to be out in
- 52:24Speaker 4: New York and in that weather December, and yeah you're not,
- 52:28Speaker 4: and you're plus years old.
- 52:30Speaker 2: And the fact that you don't think about that, you know,
- 52:33Speaker 2: like it's kind of ego too.
- 52:35Speaker 4: The couple a couple of different teams to when out
- 52:39Speaker 4: when the Vikings cut had a couple of different teams to.
- 52:42Speaker 2: To go to New Orleans was an easy fit. You know,
- 52:46Speaker 2: it was an easy stadium.
- 52:48Speaker 4: And you're gonna play ten games in the stadium because
- 52:51Speaker 4: you're playing Atlanta twice, you know what I mean, So
- 52:54Speaker 4: it may at least nine I'll say it made it
- 52:56Speaker 4: made sense to me to to go there. Said at
- 53:00Speaker 4: that point in time in my career, I was not
- 53:02Speaker 4: interested in because they playing. But you got nine games,
- 53:06Speaker 4: it's going to be in perfect weather. Do you play
- 53:08Speaker 4: Tampa Bay? Do you got your Panthers? You had the Vikings,
- 53:13Speaker 4: we had, we played the Vikes vision.
- 53:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:17Speaker 4: Overall, so you're guarantee to play like twelve games in
- 53:20Speaker 4: probably pretty good weather.
- 53:23Speaker 2: If I'm a quarterback, I'm forty plus. Yeah, send me
- 53:25Speaker 2: to Arizona for sure? Do we do we?
- 53:30Speaker 4: So?
- 53:30Speaker 1: Do we know?
- 53:32Speaker 3: Do we know?
- 53:33Speaker 2: Who? Who is? I think who is the quarterback?
- 53:38Speaker 4: And I don't know who is the quarterback that you
- 53:42Speaker 4: think is going to be the first quarterback in the
- 53:44Speaker 4: draft possibly.
- 53:45Speaker 2: Or or is even good?
- 53:46Speaker 4: And let's say who and I won't even say the
- 53:48Speaker 4: first draft? Who do you what quarterback do you think
- 53:51Speaker 4: first off the board? Has not even first off the board?
- 53:54Speaker 4: Who's going to be the best? Who do you think
- 53:56Speaker 4: will show out first? I think it's it again, aviat
- 54:00Speaker 4: is always depends on where you go with organization. True,
- 54:03Speaker 4: But I think the one that I've seen, I like
- 54:05Speaker 4: cam Ward from Miami, but I love Shador Sanders, and
- 54:08Speaker 4: I love because he's his ability to throw in the pocket,
- 54:11Speaker 4: his ability to throw under adversity accurately. I mean, you're
- 54:15Speaker 4: talking about a pinpoint laser can just pit it where.
- 54:20Speaker 2: It needs to go. And I'm hoping that you're gonna say,
- 54:23Speaker 2: and he can run a little bit too.
- 54:24Speaker 4: He has the ability to get you those first and
- 54:27Speaker 4: second downs and third down conversions that you need. So
- 54:30Speaker 4: I think he's going to be really good.
- 54:32Speaker 6: So this just crossed my mind, this thought. Do you
- 54:34Speaker 6: think maybe the Cowboys would make a play and say,
- 54:38Speaker 6: we'll bring Shadar here and he can start if Daddy,
- 54:41Speaker 6: if prom comes with him.
- 54:43Speaker 2: I hope the coach.
- 54:44Speaker 5: Oh no, you were the big You were the big
- 54:46Speaker 5: proponent of that, weren't you about the No.
- 54:49Speaker 4: I mean we talked about like bron and stuff. It
- 54:51Speaker 4: was cool, But I mean you coasted him in high school,
- 54:53Speaker 4: you coasted him in college twice.
- 54:58Speaker 2: Do you think that could happen? Thinking it very well,
- 55:02Speaker 2: But I don't.
- 55:03Speaker 1: I don't.
- 55:03Speaker 2: I think you said that he's staying, which is kind
- 55:07Speaker 2: of shocking to me. But I do think he he
- 55:13Speaker 2: is the He is the epitome of the quarterback that
- 55:18Speaker 2: you're looking for, that anybody's looking for. Now. The problem
- 55:22Speaker 2: with that, I think is the potential of what does
- 55:26Speaker 2: Dion play in it?
- 55:29Speaker 4: I think some I think I mean because to me,
- 55:31Speaker 4: I'd be like, Okay, I don't mind him around because I.
- 55:35Speaker 8: Know I know this.
- 55:36Speaker 2: He can work with my dbs. You know he can,
- 55:38Speaker 2: he can talk to us a little bit.
- 55:40Speaker 4: If I'm just saying, if he was to get involved,
- 55:43Speaker 4: I don't know how bad, how bothered I.
- 55:45Speaker 2: Would be with that. I think Schador at this point
- 55:49Speaker 2: in his life, he was gonna go ahead.
- 55:50Speaker 4: He probably wants to go his own way to some
- 55:52Speaker 4: degree because I think I think he has major I
- 55:57Speaker 4: think he has major star potential, particularly if he go
- 55:59Speaker 4: to New York Giants. Sorg had Senders on his own
- 56:03Speaker 4: outside of the shadow of his dad, has a major
- 56:06Speaker 4: star potential, right, he has the look, he has the cachet.
- 56:10Speaker 4: He can actually play right, unlike some other you know, legacies.
- 56:14Speaker 4: He can actually ball right.
- 56:16Speaker 5: Do you think the Cowboys would make a play to
- 56:18Speaker 5: trade I think.
- 56:20Speaker 2: I don't think.
- 56:22Speaker 4: I don't think you paid Dak all that money. I
- 56:25Speaker 4: think you got some pieces you can work with. And
- 56:27Speaker 4: if I'm Dion, that's not an upgrade. It's not an
- 56:31Speaker 4: upgrade going from Voter to Dallas per se other than cachet.
- 56:35Speaker 4: But I think that to me, Dion, again, I don't
- 56:38Speaker 4: know the man ever met him. He seems like a
- 56:40Speaker 4: little bit of a control freak, like he wants to
- 56:42Speaker 4: be controlling things. He had a post today that said,
- 56:45Speaker 4: if you don't go to clash, it's gonna fetch your
- 56:47Speaker 4: nil check. That's a guy who wants to be in
- 56:50Speaker 4: control and head of his finger on the button. And
- 56:53Speaker 4: you ain't gonna have that in the NFL, particularly under
- 56:56Speaker 4: j Jones. So I don't think it's a pilly And
- 56:59Speaker 4: I'm worrying for him well, And I wonder as a
- 57:02Speaker 4: as a former player. If I'm an active player and
- 57:07Speaker 4: I'm hearing this from what I'm gonna still consider a
- 57:10Speaker 4: former player, right, even though he's the head coach or whatever,
- 57:14Speaker 4: I still that's that's still be on.
- 57:16Speaker 2: You know, and and he played there and you know, yeah,
- 57:19Speaker 2: So I think that there could be some issues in.
- 57:26Speaker 4: Player coach conversation like how how is that conversation? Like
- 57:31Speaker 4: you can't come with me, like any kind of way,
- 57:33Speaker 4: Like you ain't gonna come with me, That's.
- 57:35Speaker 2: What I'm saying.
- 57:36Speaker 4: And I think he has he can do that with
- 57:37Speaker 4: the kids. Yes, I don't know if he can pull
- 57:39Speaker 4: that off with yeah, because they're gonna they're gonna look
- 57:44Speaker 4: at him as as Dion. First, it's gonna be hard
- 57:48Speaker 4: for them to especially the veteran players. Maybe some of
- 57:51Speaker 4: the younger players are like, man, it's on, you know,
- 57:53Speaker 4: and you're going from Boulder where you running the whole show?
- 57:57Speaker 4: That's the whole show, right, Yeah, it ain't no doubt
- 57:59Speaker 4: about it.
- 57:59Speaker 2: Who run that show?
- 58:01Speaker 3: Now?
- 58:01Speaker 4: You gotta go to if you went to Dallas, that's
- 58:04Speaker 4: Jerry's world. Jerry run that show. And I don't know
- 58:07Speaker 4: if that's appealing to a guy like Dion.
- 58:09Speaker 2: I think that the relationship between them two, I think
- 58:12Speaker 2: it works. He's still I think it worked. That's too
- 58:14Speaker 2: ego maniacs you till you're still Jerry Jones. But you're
- 58:18Speaker 2: still And I run the team. Yes, I trust you
- 58:20Speaker 2: to run the team. That's what your mouth.
- 58:22Speaker 5: Saying, and that's what your mouth save what Jerry James needs.
- 58:27Speaker 2: Percent right, But that's what his mouth saying. But he
- 58:29Speaker 2: ain't gonna do that till that man is gone.
- 58:33Speaker 4: He's gonna run that organization, whether it's good, bad, ugly.
- 58:37Speaker 4: He ain't no giving that up.
- 58:39Speaker 2: And it don't matter.
- 58:41Speaker 4: Well, ladies and gentlemen will end on that now we
- 58:46Speaker 4: will be back in next week. All right, we're out
